Mr. Samuel bought a land at a rapidly developing community.
He cleared the land to begin work on the site. Just then another owner of the
same property emerged. Quarrel ensued. To settle the dispute both of them had
to meet the community leader who doubles as the seller and reseller of the said
property.
In his cunning wisdom, the community leader took the initial
or original owner of the property to another land far away from the former one
and at a less developed area.
THE REASON BEHIND THE RESELL
The first buyer, Mr. Okoro, bought the land five years ago
at the cost of N500,000. Ever since, he
did not have the money to develop the plot. Right now, development has reached
the area, thus raising the value of the land to N1.5M. The community leader in
question realizing this fact, had to resell that same plot to another
unsuspecting buyer.
HIS PROFIT
The community leader, after reselling the land, made N
1M from the transaction without lifting a finger. He just made a whooping N 1M from your land. Tell me, why won’t he
keep reselling peoples land when there is so much to gain? This is the reason
why some community leaders live an affluent lifestyles driving the best cars
and the like.
